Aug. 6th, 2019 11:53 pmwe aten't dead, as it were, but we continue to have very little to say and what little we do have to say tends to go on twitter
perhaps we should wrangle more of our friends and acquaintances into creating dreamwidth accounts ...
(the goal has always been "click dreamwidth when i want social interaction the way i currently click twitter and used to click tumblr", but when i only have like 24 blogs to follow and most of them are apparently in a similar situation...)

Dec. 18th, 2018 04:55 pm A thing I liked about tumblr that I never could find on any other site since first leaving* was the ability to make arbitrary pages infodumping about your OCs or whatever and then go back and edit in more info any time... I guess I could make a post doing that, but I don't know how to make a post do the things I want a page to do. Prime among them is "don't appear on people's reading pages", which option I have seen, but only when I click "edit date" and I'm a little unclear on what that implies.
Listography almost serves the purpose, I suppose, but like... I feel like the only one who still uses that site. I mean, just for archiving it doesn't matter if nobody else cares, I guess.
I was going somewhere with this but I forgot.
* That "leaving" gets a large asterisk because I've never once actually managed to log off tumblr and never log back on -- but I successfully abandoned my original web brand and, when I returned, restricted my follows from the replacement blog to people whose posts I was confident wouldn't upset me the way that caused me to leave the first time... it's that replacement blog that I "quit" for 42 1/2 hours when The Purge® happened, and I intend to focus more on DW now than Tumblr -- or even Twitter, if I can -- but leaving a social media site on purpose seems to be a thing I'm not actually capable of...
